Crist patí per nosaltres, i així ens deixà el seu exemple perquè seguim les seves petjades. Ell no obrava amb violència ni tenia mai als llavis la perfídia. Quan l'insultaven, no responia insultant; quan el turmentaven, no responia amb amenaces; sinó que confiava la seva causa a aquell que judica amb justícia. A la creu, ell portà en el seu cos les nostres culpes, perquè no visquem més com a pecadors, sinó com a justos. Les seves ferides ens curaven. Pessebre fet al taller del Monestir de Santa Maria de Vallbona Quan els àngels se’n tornaren, deien entre ells els pastors: «Arribem-nos a Bet-Lèhem a veure això que ha passat i que el Senyor ens ha fet saber». Hi anaren, doncs, tot seguit, i trobaren Maria i Josep, amb el nen a la menjadora. Havent-ho vist amb els propis ulls, van contar el que els havien dit d’aquell infant, i tothom qui ho sentia es meravellava del que deien els pastors. Maria conservava aquests records en el seu cor i els meditava. Lent is a privileged time for conversion and the purification of our hearts on the journey that leads us to the Lord’s Easter. For this reason, the monastic communities of Vallbona and Poblet invite you to spend a few days in a spiritual retreat, guided by the key elements of our tradition. We offer you a few days of contemplation, prayer, and spiritual accompaniment, where each of you will be able to participate in the community liturgy, in the guided reading of the Holy Scriptures, and in an introduction to the Benedictine Rule and the foundations of the contemplative life. We wish to share the treasures that fill the life of our monasteries with the young people of today’s world, as we are convinced that prayer is of utmost importance in advancing along the path of Christian life and in bringing order and deep meaning to our lives.
